For many years, we processed meat for our own household and understood the value of knowing exactly where your food comes from. In 2020, the challenges of the pandemic, combined with our desire to spend more time with family and make use of the buildings on our farm, inspired us to explore a new opportunity: creating a local meat processing facility to serve our community.

In late spring of 2020, we began renovating a former dairy barn on our farm. After months of hard work and preparation, we received inspection approval from the Illinois Department of Agriculture in October 2020 and began processing beef shortly thereafter.

What started as a small operation quickly grew. As demand for custom processing remained strong and our retail store continued to expand, we broke ground on a new facility in the spring of 2022. In 2023, we achieved another significant milestone by obtaining USDA inspection, allowing us to better serve both local farmers and customers seeking high-quality, locally processed meat.

Our commitment to growth didn't stop there. In 2026, we expanded once again, adding retail space, a ready-to-eat packaging area, and additional cold storage. These improvements increased our efficiency and helped us better serve the farmers, families, and communities that have supported us from the beginning.

Today, Arrow Farm Meats is proud to provide custom processing services and offer wholesome, award-winning meat products through our retail store. We remain committed to quality, customer service, and supporting local agriculture.
